Programs & Services
We are informed, experienced and passionate defenders of the rights of people with developmental disabilities. We provide services throughout life, from birth to death. Our services are free of charge.
- Advocacy Program - We are informed, experienced and passionate defenders of the rights of people with developmental disabilites. We ensure that those we serve are provided services they need, are protected and know their rights. We are here to speak with and on behalf of people with mental retardation or related developmental disabilities.
- Judicial Advocacy - We believe in due process and educating the judicial system and our clients to assist in any judicial matters that require our service.
- Guardianship Program - Our extended family is made up of people with developmental disabilities who have been neglected, exploited or abused or have no other family and we serve as their legal guardians. Our guardianship is monitored by the 4th Judicial District.
- Education - We provide workshops, speakers, educational materials, conference scholarships and a lending library on a wide range of issues that concern people with developmental disabilities and their friends and families. Guardianship, dual diagnosis, the legal system, sexuality, as well as diagnosis-specific information are a few of the subjects included in our educational mission.
