In a world where inclusion is often just a talking point, Karleah Hall stands as a beacon of determination, creativity, and advocacy. A custodian at FBG Cleaning Service, Karleah found her current role through Indeed and cherishes the independence it brings. Working two hours a day, Monday through Friday, she appreciates the respect from her bosses and the timely paycheck. But behind her work lies a deeper story of resilience in the face of a job market that often overlooks talent when it hears “disability.”

Reflecting on her challenges in finding employment, Karleah highlighted that many employers shy away once they learn about her disability. She wishes more companies understood that individuals with disabilities bring valuable experience and unique perspectives to the workforce. “People with disabilities deserve a chance to work and show their value, just like everyone else,” she said.

But Karleah’s dreams stretch far beyond her current job. Since she was fifteen, she has envisioned creating her own Anime Art Studio and Astrovia Coffee Shop, spaces where creativity and inclusivity would thrive. Designed to be as welcoming as a treehouse, her dream business would be a haven for self-expression, friendship, and acceptance. As someone who aspires to foster children with disabilities, she hopes to model a future where everyone, regardless of their challenges, can find a safe space and a supportive community.

Karleah’s passions extend beyond art and business—she’s a devoted athlete. From tackle football to basketball, volleyball, and soccer, her love for sports is boundless. Currently, she’s trying out for the CO Switchbacks Unified soccer team, driven by her dedication and dreams of competing nationally in track and field with the Special Olympics. Her goal? To win Woman Athlete of the Year and inspire others with similar challenges.

Disability awareness is a cause close to Karleah’s heart. She understands the vulnerabilities that individuals with disabilities face, from risks of abuse to wrongful encounters with law enforcement. Her hope is to guide younger individuals and families in the disability community, showing them they can overcome obstacles and achieve their dreams. A self-described comedian with a “heart of gold,” Karleah has dedicated much of her life to uplifting others.

Through her involvement with The Arc Pikes Peak Region, she’s had a profound impact, particularly in the Sisterhood of Empowered Women, and enjoys participating in the organization’s dances and events. With her unwavering spirit, Karleah Hall continues to prove that dreams have no limitations, serving as a reminder of the power of resilience, inclusivity, and kindness.
